Introducing EDIAFRICA
PROFILE OF ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FOR AFRICA (EDIA)
Environment Development Initiative for Africa (EDIA) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Corporate Affair Commission, Abuja.
The aim of the body is to identify and proffer solutions to environment problems of immediate and future concern to the Government and people of Africa, especially in the core areas of solid wastes and sewage disposal, water, industrial and air pollution, forestry destruction, soil erosion and all adverse effects of climate change on the African environment. Towards achieving this aim, the following objectives shall be pursued.
- To embark on a sustained awareness campaign regarding the extent our environment has been degraded in recent times as a result of human and natural activities.
- To explain to the people the adverse effects of a degraded environment on development.
- To help our various governments to ensure that all issues of environment concern, sickness as caused by water, air and industrial pollution are taken into consideration in their national and local development planning.
- To research and publish scholarly findings for use by international organizations, Governments of Africa, Universities and Development
- To seek collaboration with the bodies named in (d) above for a lasting
- To find lasting solutions to the destruction of the environment and its effects through public awareness and participation.
- To ensure that all development projects, being handled by individuals, communities and Governments are preceded by Environment Impact Assessment (E.I.A).

The Vision of the NGO is elimination of environment problems that impede human and societal development.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission statement is to create adequate awareness on the harmful effect of degraded environment and partner with development agencies and government to proffer lasting solutions.
OUR ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL
The organizational Goal is to harness human and material resources and services for the purpose of promoting a healthy environment.
